LMC 8.4 R9 is the oldest LMC 8.4 release in our archive. It is built on Shamim’s SGCam GCam 8.4, with work credited to Arnova8G2, BSG, Shamim and BigKaka. R9 has three APK variants.
What’s new in LMC 8.4 R9

- A TEST section in the patcher with new parameters.

- Wider value ranges for Clarity, Contrast 1 and Smoothness.

- Many sessions added to the stream config.
Fixes
- Optimised developer settings, and a fixed gcam_debug option.
- A translation fix, plus fixes for video on the Pixel 6 UI, the Luma Subtle Level preset in the PRO patcher and the Live Photo resolution selection.
- Code clean-up, optimised animations and better performance.

Who should use R9?
R9 is mainly for people who want to repeat an older setup or test a config made for it. It is missing years of fixes, so new users should start with R18F1. All releases are compared on the LMC 8.4 old versions page.
How to install LMC 8.4 R9
- Use the download buttons above to get
LMC8.4_R9.apk(Standard), or the snapcam or samsung file if you need it. - Install it and allow camera and photo access. R9 Standard uses
com.camera.lmc84r7, a package ID different from later LMC releases, so it installs next to them. - Test the base app. R9’s built-in configs were updated for this release.
What you miss by using R9
R9 predates every change listed on the newer release pages: the session options and Mi 12 Ultra fix (R13), Material You and the system noise model (R14), Exynos support and per-lens libraries (R15), frame-count control (R16), Samsung metering (R17), and the interface update with better default lens settings (R18). If R9 is the only build that works on your phone, it is still worth keeping. Otherwise, use it mainly to compare.
R9 and Live Photo
R9 added a Live Photo option in the video section and fixed its resolution selection. Live Photo records a short clip around each photo. Whether it works depends on your phone’s video support in GCam ports, so test it before relying on it.

Is R9 the first LMC 8.4?
No. The developer’s list also includes R8, and there were earlier LMC 8.2 builds. R9 is the oldest LMC 8.4 release covered here.
Does R9 have a Google Lens variant?
No. R9 has three files: Standard, snapcam and samsung.
