How to Install LMC 8.4 APK
LMC is not on the Play Store, so you install it from an APK file. This guide covers the Android permission you need, how to avoid the most common install error, and a quick test to run before you change any settings.
Updated

Before you start
- Check your free storage. An LMC APK needs some space for the download and the installed app.
- Decide which version you want. For most phones that is LMC 8.4 R18F1.
- Choose one package. Use Standard unless you already know your phone needs Snapcam, Aweme, Scan3D or another variant (package guide).
Step-by-step installation
- Download the APK. Tap the download button for the package you chose and wait for the download to finish completely.
- Open the file. Tap the finished download in your browser, or open it from the Downloads folder in your file manager.
- Allow installation from this app. Android will ask you to allow the browser or file manager to install unknown apps. Turn it on and go back. The exact wording differs between phone brands.
- Tap Install. If Play Protect shows a warning, read it carefully. Only continue if you are comfortable installing third-party software.
- Open LMC and grant permissions. Allow camera, microphone (for video) and photo/storage access.
- Turn the installer permission off again if you do not plan to install more APKs. This is optional, but it is good practice.
Your first-launch test
Before loading any XML config, check the basics. That way you know what the plain app does on your phone.
Main photo
Take a photo and open it in your gallery to confirm it saved.
Front camera
Switch to the selfie camera and take a photo.
Lenses
Check which extra lenses (ultrawide, telephoto) appear.
Your main mode
Try night mode, portrait or video if you rely on them.
If all four work, you can add an XML config. If something fails, fix it now. It is much harder after a config has changed many settings at once.
If the installation fails
- “App not installed”: an app with the same package ID is already installed, or the download is incomplete. See App not installed.
- “There was a problem parsing the package”: the file did not download completely. Delete it and download again.
- The install button is greyed out: close any screen overlays, such as chat bubbles or blue-light filters, and try again.
- LMC opens to a black screen: the app installed correctly, but it cannot open the camera. See black screen.
Updating or switching versions
Android installs an update over an existing app only when the package ID and signature match and the version is newer. To go back to an older release with the same package ID, uninstall the current one first. To keep both, choose packages with different IDs.
