Which old version should you download?

  • New to LMC? Use R18F1, the latest LMC 8.4 build.
  • Following a config or video made for a specific release? Use that same release. Settings change between builds, especially at R16.
  • Samsung phone with an Exynos chip? R15 added Exynos support. R15 and every later build include it.
  • Newest build crashes on your phone? Step back one release at a time (R17, then R16, then R15) and test each one without a config first.
  • Phone runs Android 12 or later and you want newer features? Look at the separate LMC 9.6 branch.

Installing an older version over a newer one

Android will not downgrade an app with the same package ID. If you already have R18F1 Snapcam and want R17 Snapcam, uninstall the first one (export any settings you need) or pick a different package variant so both can be installed. The Standard packages of different releases use different package IDs and can usually live side by side.
