Looking for the LMC 8.4 R18 APK? The R18 release has six recorded R18F1 filenames, each with a different Android package identity. Compare the variants, choose one for a clear reason, and keep a note of the exact filename. The release name alone cannot tell you which of your phone’s lenses will work.

The buttons jump to the package list and package-choice guide. The recorded variants now use file-specific direct APK links; the table still keeps hashes, scan results and device testing separate until those facts are verified.

What “R18” and “R18F1” mean here

R18 is the LMC 8.4 release on Hasli’s index, dated 14 June 2023. The download list on that release page uses R18F1 in each filename. Keeping both labels together matters: a search for “R18” may take you to the right release page, while the file you actually select is labeled R18F1. A different LMC branch, such as 9.6, is not a later fix of the 8.4 APK.

The six recorded R18F1 files use Standard, Snapcam, Aweme, Scan3D, Google Lens and Iris identities. The camera build is the same release across those variants. Android sees different application IDs, which can affect installation conflicts and, on some devices, access to extra cameras. The release listing establishes that the variants exist; it does not establish that a particular one works on a particular phone.

Choose the file by the problem you are trying to solve

If you have no device-specific recommendation, the Standard file is a reasonable first comparison. It is the first file listed upstream and gives you a baseline: can the app open, capture through the main and front cameras, and save a photo? Record the package name before trying a second file. When an extra lens is missing, an alternative identity may be worth testing, but changing the package name is a test, not a cure.

Snapcam, Aweme, Scan3D and Iris are names people often associate with particular phone families. Those associations are clues, not universal rules. Two phones sold under the same brand can expose different camera interfaces, and an Android update can change the outcome. Google Lens is another identity in the R18F1 list; its name is not evidence that every Lens feature or camera module will work. Our package-choice guide explains the identities and a simple one-change-at-a-time test.

Do not use the number of variants as a quality score. Six packages do not make R18 “more compatible” than a release with five. What matters is whether one specific package on one specific device performs the camera actions you need. If you cannot find evidence for your exact model and software build in the phone guidance, compatibility remains unknown here.

What actually changed from R17

The R18 changelog is chiefly about controls and handling. It describes a taller exposure slider, popup menus for mode and option buttons, vibration feedback, custom noise and auto-white-balance model loading, selectable viewfinder frame-rate ranges, and changes to the dark interface and top bar. It also reports a better default auxiliary-camera setup for many devices. These are meaningful changes if you adjust the camera often or had to correct camera IDs, but they do not prove a better photo on your phone.

Hasli’s R18 notes explicitly say the changes are for ease of use rather than image quality, and say configs from previous versions are suitable. Read that as upstream guidance about the release, not a guarantee that every older XML fits every sensor. If R17 already produces reliable photos and video for you, there is no need to replace a working setup just because R18 has the larger number. See the R17 record for its different changelog and actual file list.

A first-session test that tells you something useful

Keep the stock camera available and write down the phone’s exact model code, Android version and package filename. Open LMC without an XML first. Take a normal daylight photo with the main camera, then test the front camera and confirm both pictures appear in your gallery. After that, try each auxiliary lens you care about and record whether the viewfinder opens, whether capture completes, and whether the saved image came from the intended lens. A black preview and a missing lens button are different failures; noting which occurred makes the next step clearer.

Test a short video separately if video matters to you. A port can take still photos while a video mode fails. Only after the default app behaves consistently should you try an XML profile. Keep a copy of the working state and change one variable at a time: package, config, or LMC release. If several things change together, the result cannot tell you which change helped.

If Android blocks the installation or Play Protect warns about the file, pause and check the origin and the specific warning. We do not recommend turning off Play Protect to make an APK install. Google’s Play Protect guidance explains that it checks apps from outside the Play Store too.

When an XML helps—and when to leave it out

An XML can save a set of camera parameters, but it can also introduce a new problem. Start with the unconfigured app so you have a baseline. If an attributed config targets your exact phone or sensor and names a compatible LMC build, you can compare it against that baseline. Make a note of which lenses and modes improved or worsened. A profile described only as “best settings” is not enough information to judge its fit.

The config library only publishes records with provenance and supported-build context. It may be empty for your device. That is a more honest result than offering an anonymous XML and implying it has been tested. If a crash starts immediately after importing a profile, remove that variable before changing the APK as well.

R18 questions readers usually need answered

Is R18F1 a separate camera version?

It is the filename label used for the files on the R18 release page. This record uses “R18 / R18F1 files” so you can match the release heading to the file you will see upstream.

Is R18 the newest LMC build overall?

No. It is the later of the two 8.4 releases compared here. Hasli’s release index also lists newer branches. Compare the version guides if you are researching LMC versions generally.

Will Scan3D or Iris unlock every Samsung lens?

The release lists both package identities, but that is not a device test. Check a record for your exact Galaxy model and software state, or treat each as a controlled trial. The Samsung guide explains what to record.

Where is the direct APK button?

Direct file-specific APK download links are available for the recorded variants below. Keep the exact filename and package ID together when comparing packages; file hashes, signatures and scan results remain separate verification fields.
